Club Meeting Minutes, from March 19, 2008 (thanks to John Otto for taking notes). Get well soon Bob.

· Jim Radke attended 2nd meeting, Dan Ferderer's 3rd meeting and he was voted in as a probationary member.
· Spring Practice: Cancelled
· Grantsburg
o Discussion on how many trophies to give out - no more than 5th place? A motion was made to buy no more trophies past 5th; This failed to pass with 7 for and 9 against. (Ed. note: it was decided years ago to not give out trophies past 30% or 7th place, and few classes go this deep)
o Sound testing? - we will do a random draw (1 in 4), as worked well last year. Ref still has the option to test bike deemed too loud and DQ.
o Clubhouse Status - Close to done; electricity, furnace installed. Steps installation, some plumbing and finish work yet to do but should be ready by race day.
o Track sound policy - There was a lot of discussion about what to do about noise from the track when people play ride there. Mark Krey volunteered to collect suggestions from the membership on how to mitigate the sound impact of the track.
· D23 meeting:
o Mandatory rules meeting attended by SAER D23 reps.
o New classes are listed in the rule book, need to change our race order list.
o We should have a Red Flag and use it to stop races if necessary.
o Parents are not allowed to help kids on MINI track
o
AMA competition
card holders don't need to sign minor release, but still need parent at track (note from Ken – new
2008 policy is that AMA issues an ANNUAL RELEASE CARD for minors, the
Competition Card DOES NOT substitute for minor release form. 2008 AMA Policy
forwarded to appropriate SAER officers).
o D23 thinks that we should have five fire extinguishers at track
o D23 thinks that we should have a policy on pit riding
o There was no B to A advancement by the AMA this year, so expect lots of B riders
o Need a policy on sound testing. It was agreed our method of a random draw (1 in 4) was a good one. Will bring this forward to other promoters to push for consistent Sound Testing at all tracks.
· Nemadji GIA
o Trail scouting being done now. Riding season opens May 1, but we should go through it before then to clear deadfall, obstructions, etc. once the snow is gone.
· National Enduro
o Discussed plans, what's being done for Sponsor solicitation. Is being handled by Dave Anderson, his wife and Mike Pohl.
o Pre-entry forms will be handled by John Otto, who will work with the NEPG scoring person. Rider Numbers and transponders, and possibly onion skins, will need to be given out at sign up.
o Trail plans and work was discussed; we need to get together and determine the route.
o Still need a Section Leader for the easy first section. Contact Ken if you are interested.
o People are needed to come up early to set up the course, and can stay over for a relaxed day of cleanup riding the day after.
o People should come up and ride the sections with the section leaders, so they know where the course goes for the event. Lots of riding to be done...
o We will rent good long range radios for the event. Kerrick EMTs suggested it after last Enduro. Ken will see to it.
