·
· District 23 sound initiative – For the past several years, the sound level rule (98 db) has been a (completely ignored) AMA rule. It is something a protest could be filed for. The district is trying to educate people about sound by making people aware of this rule and by having meters available at select motocross events so that people can see where their machines are at. The ha= ve purchased two meters for this purpose that will float from track to track.<= o:p>

Sound
Meter – Motion made and passed for the club to purchase a sound meter=
at
an approximate cost of $1500. Since there may be sound related protests this
year, it would be better if we could handle them at the track, rather than
forcing the protested bike or quad to be impounded and tested later. We can
also offer voluntary sound testing as a service at our races. There are sti=
ll a
few details to work out as to where we would test. Mark Krey volunteered to=
go
to the training. There is plenty of room for others to volunteer.

December 28th
Howdy Guys! Sorry this is so late. Things have been pretty hectic aro=
und
here. So heres a rough attempt to capture what we talked about on the
28th. Its very rough, because=
I
wanted to get this out before the long weekend. With your input, I will produce a =
final
summary and copy Ron Potter and Tim Browning.
Topics:
1) Mapping & Signing -=
Suggestions included naming trail systems and numbering intersection=
s.
The need to standardize signing state wide was discussed. I spoke with Tim Browning and he is
interested in seeing your suggestions. If you could send your ideas to Tim =
he
would be glad to take them in consideration. We also talked about the
importance of signing dead end trails.&nbs=
p;
Construct turn arounds would encourage riders to stay on trail. =

outhouses - No established standards for shelt=

Shelter plans should be submitted to the T&W area supervisor for approv=

before construction begins. I need to check on the status of outhouses on t=
rail
systems. =

6) Trail prescriptions=
-=
When the clubs have differing ideas for trail fixes, we should get
together, preferably on site, to discuss solutions. We all need to communicate
closures to one another.
7) Speed - Concerns expressed on riders
driving too fast on the trails, especially on the wider trails. Seeing incr=
