Almost all of the trails that are there are new Potlatch hunting leases and are posted "NO TRESPASSING". DO NOT violate the property rights of the leasers!!  Please tell everyone that  you know to honor the No Trespassing signs and not ride there.

·         Any work being done on the trails should be happening at Holyoke. It will shift back to Stone Lake after the enduro. People will be up there every weekend and sometimes during the week. Contact Ken Fastner at  651-456-0224 if you are planning on helping out.

Enduro Report

We will need as many volunteers as we can get on Enduro Weekend.  No previous experience is needed to help man a check.  You can drive a car to most of the checks.  Also, anyone that can ride can help pull down arrows and sweep ride.  So, invite your friends and family to come up and participate.  They might have fun.

It is very important that everyone who wants to help on Sunday be at the Holyoke Town Hall at 8:00 pm on Saturday night before the Enduro.  We have to assign folks to 10 checks, 4 persons per check plus scorers and other jobs.  If club member or volunteers are not at this meeting, we cannot assume that they will show up later.

We will be camping behind the Holyoke Town Hall on Enduro weekend.

People who come up and camp on Saturday night will be treated to food.  Sheri and Sheila will be heading up the Saturday night meal.

Plan on eating breakfast at the campground on Enduro morning.

Roy has a supply of arrows, X’s and W’s.  We should use only round, white paper plates only for corner markers.

Almost all of the trail mileage that we have on the west side of Hiway 23 is Potlatch deer hunting leased land and is now posted “No Trespassing”.  We do have permission to run our event through that property.  Do not ride there unless you are specifically working on the Enduro.
Club Meeting Minutes
, June 29, 2005

Attendance –  14

Current Members; Bob Chase, Ken Fastner, Jon Kemnitz, Jeff Klein, Mark Krey, Jeff Mack, Bob Maki, Greg Nelson, John Otto, Ross Thompson, Mike Wells

Prospective Members – Casey Weist (2nd) Taylor Currie (2nd), Doug Less (2nd)

·         Casey Weist and Taylor Currie were voted in as a probationary members. This was only their second meeting, but they have done a lot of work at Grantsburg this year.

·         There was some discussion about the work being done at Stone Lake. It was suggested to use pink ribbon for when clearing and to make the trails wide enough for an ATV to squeeze through. The main point for now is that this work should be set aside until after the Holyoke Enduro.

·         Holyoke

o        First thing that the section leaders need to do is clear deadfall and make a plan for dealing with some of the logging that was done or any other issues related to the trails.

o        A bridge needs to be added for the State Line Creek Crossing.  It will be about 16 feet long.

o        May need the fishery guy to approve the bridge. In general, they are doing things very much by the book this year.

o        Ron is adding some trail to his section

o        When working, you can camp on the property of Mike Dahl. Mike has treated our club very well and his cooperation is essential for many aspects of the event. Treat his property better than your own. He deserves all the respect and consideration we can give him. Anyone who does something to upset him will receive an unspecified, but no doubt unpleasant, punishment from Ken Fastner.

o        Greg Nelson was going to order plaques for the Enduro awards. They will be similar to what was used last year, except we were looking to use something other than the moose on it. Nothing wrong with the moose, just don’t want to give identical trophies two years in a row. Cost will be around $9 each, a bit more for the overall winners.

·         GIA – We are approved for this year. We can now get paid for the work at Holyoke.

·         Potlatch Leases – Many of the parcels appear to be leased. Some activity has been seen, No Trespassing signs, etc. We may need to get permission from some to use the trails on the day of the Enduro.

·         Grantsburg

o        Tom Peterson is still putting together the plan for the watering system.

o        No change on the fence or gate.

o        Greg Nelson can get some shelving for free from work. He thought they might work well for holding the trophies in the new(er) trailer.

o        Quad Only Dates -  This will be put to a straight-up vote at the August district meeting.

·         As a gentle reminder, remember that if you are going to compete in one of our Enduros, you cannot ride the trails very much, as per the AMA rules.

·         TCTR needs to e-schedule their Oct 1 trail ride that was to be in the Pillsbury State Forest. They may consider the Nemadji. If so, our club will have little involvement in the event.
