Club Meeting Minutes, for May 31, 2006
Attendance
Club Members – Mark Krey, John Otto, Ross Thompson, Mark Brunsberg, Scott Haraldson, Ken Fastener
· We were to vote on changing Megan Rhode’s status from probaitionary to vested. She was not present and it was felt that there were not enough club members there to vote on this. So, it was tabled until the next meeting.
· Fees for the upcoming all ATV MX were discussed. Raising the gate and/or the entry fee was discussed. It was decided that we might align ourselves with the promoters that had events before ours. Greg, Mark, John and Ken would get some information about that from Bob Lind at the D23 Meeting the next week.
· The Fence in front of the Grantsburg property was discussed. It was brought up that Roy and Tim were planning on putting together a crew to finish this on the Saturday before the all ATV MX.
· [Section edited for website.]
· Charlie junior is still working on the roll holders. This has to be tough as he has a broken collarbone.
· It was noted that we did NOT have a plan for a Saturday night club dinner for Stone Lake. Consider this notice that you should bring your own food for this event. We will be eating together so, if you would like to bring some food to share it would be great. Sheila, who boldly crashed the meeting that was at her house, said that she plans to bring Rice Krispie bars.
· Ken had contacted the DNR to inquire about the progress of this year’s Grant. He was told that the paperwork was at the Grand Rapid headquarters and was probably signed off and being sent out. He also stated that we still have money left over from last year to do this spring’s trailwork. Update – Ken hasn’t seen the signed-off 2006 Grant yet.
· Ken went over the plans for Holyoke. Ron has a bunch of new trail that needs to be put into the County land in his section. A bridge needs to be installed over Anderson Creek. The trail needs to cross Co Rd 155 and get hooked back into the old trail system on that side.
· SAER also plans to build a 30ft long bridge over the State Line Creek in Roy’s section. Building the bridge needs to be coordinated with the DNR’s repair of the west approach. He priced out 14” x 14” x 30’ timbers at Duluth timber. These need to be picked up at Duluth Timber, trucked to Holyoke and then hauled up about 1.5 miles of wide trail to the site. Ken is looking into ways to get the timbers to the site.
· John Otto purchased a new printer that is networkable to several computers. This should make printing out results much easier than it has been.
