August 18 Holyoke Youth Enduro
August 19 Holyoke Enduro
September 15 Grantsburg Practice
September 16 Grantsburg Race
· The club’s biggest need for Stone Lake is on the event days. If you are thinking of going, being put to work once you get there will not be a problem. Like Holyoke, manning the checks on Sunday takes quite a few people. Don’t forget that MINI Trail Boss Tim Kight needs help running the MINI on Saturday as well.
· The Amendment to the Constitution has passed. The voting for Club Officers will now take place a month earlier. Thank you to all who voted promptly.
· We have had some recent complaints from our Grantsburg neighbors about noise on non-race days. If you know you have a loud bike, please quiet it down before practicing at the track, and see to it that your guests are not excessively loud either.
· 2007 Dues are due. Please take the time to submit them promptly as it would relieve the treasurer and secretary of the distasteful job of sending out reminders.
· The Dues structure has been changed. It is now: Jan 1 thru April 1: $50, April 2 thru July 1: $75, after July 2, you’re out. $100 to buy back in.
· Dues can be sent to:

Treasurer’s Report – by Roy Fleming
Due to the lack of riders at our last event, the club lost $xxxxx putting on the 5-13-07 MX at Grantsburg.
Club balance as of 5-29-07 - $xxxxxx
Grantsburg property taxes: I have received notice the land value of the Grantsburg property will be going up. The letter reads (land values were changed this year because we have fallen behind the states fair market values.) I did the math, and the increase is 29 percent. This means we can look forward to the taxes going up, in the range of $xxxx for next year.
Club Meeting Minutes, from May 30, 2007
Attendance:
Club Members – Mark Brunsberg, Bob Chase, Ken Fastner, Jon Kemnitz, Bob Maki, John Otto
Prospective members – Mike Pohl (3rd)
· Discussion concerning us at the last ARMCA Meeting (prior to 5/13 MX):
o The promoters agreed to consistently do pre-race sound testing and make the riders better aware of the voluntary testing opportunities.
o The club agreed to kick in $xxxx for the D23 Enduro Rider of the Year award.
· Grantsburg Re-Cap
o At the May 13 MX, we had riders pick a clothespin to determine if they would be sound tested. Those riders would need to pass before being allowed to ride practice. John Otto was doing the testing and said that no one seemed angry that they were being tested and that several riders that did not have to have their bikes tested did so voluntarily. Only one rider failed, and passed the retest after putting on his stock exhaust.
o The first two races weekends drew around 300 race entries and were profitable. The last one, as mentioned in the T-Report, only had 100 race entries and 10 practice entries.
o We got many positive comments from the riders this year concerning the changes to the track and the condition it was in for the races.
o Compared to other tracks, the number of Youth riders we get is very low. Whether this is the nature of the track or something that can be improved upon somehow is a point for future conjecture.
· GIA – We are approved for around xxxx for 2007. The expenses for this grant are as of May 3. We still have money left over from 2006 that we are using for this year’s expenses.
· Holyoke
o We will not be based out of Holyoke this year due to the roadwork on Hwy 8. The Town Board that decides to rent us the space is divided on if they want to continue our arrangement. The alternatives are:
§ The ex-golf course, which would be a roundabout drive to get to, but would have plenty of private parking.
§ The gravel pit, which is closer to the main roads, and has enough parking, but is more “public”.
o The Big Bridge and its big beams – After a re-measure, Ken found that his original determination that the bridge needed to be 30 feet long was a bit much, and is closer to 23. This is good news, because the shorter 12x12 s for the main span are half the weight of the 30 foot 14x14s, but still around 1000 pounds.
o The Bridge’s schedule – Ken thought that the banks should be repaired before a new bridge is built on it. The bank repair is done by the DNR. The permit process for that and the bridge construction are slogging their way through bureaucracy. Once the banks are repaired, the materials should be there and we will be ready to spring into action.
o Got a letter from a Conservation Officer of the DNR, scolding us for not taking down some arrows and for Enduro participants riding on county roads. They C.O. did provide us with the contact at the County we needed to get the Permit. We’ve applied for and obtained the permit for this year.
· Stone Lake – Much of the trail work and arrowing are done. As stated in the Announcements, the biggest need for help is on the event weekend, June 16-17.
· Mike Pohl attended his third meeting, but since only 6 voting members were present, voting him into probationary status was put off until the next meeting.
Next Probationary Members to be voted on: Richardt Fleichman, May 2007, Ron Wilhelm, June 2007, Justin Wilhelm, June 2007
