Somewhat
odd motion was made and accepted to count Casey and Taylor as attending their
third meeting, but vote on them next meeting. They have done a lot of work up
at the track, but have trouble getting to the meetings.
·
Megan
Rhode was voted in as a probationary member.

Jackets
Nothing has changed. Mike may order a few singles of the different clothing
available and then people can see what they look like.

Motion
made and accepted to have the club bonfire pit not be the club dump. The rule
of thumb is that if it wont burn away completely, it shouldnt be there.
Examples: Good - Brush, timbers, old wood, deceased pets. Bad Appliances,
hardware filled furniture, lawn mowers.
·
Tom
Peterson looked into having a dumpster. See Notes below. No decision made.
·
Scott Haraldson asked about painting the
sign-up trailer brown. Club agreed to reimburse him for the paint if he wanted
to do it.
We got the trash
to the dump last weekend and the track is pretty well cleaned up. Bob Z., Adam
P. and Bill C. came up Saturday morning to help.
When we were at
the dump I inquired about having a dumpster brought to the track, this would
mean no more dump runs. It will cost us $55/month plus tax and fuel surcharge
for a once per month pick-up for a six yard dumpster. The guy at the dump
thought that would be plenty big for what we brought in on Saturday. We could
also call for additional pick-ups if needed. I think this will also help keep
our track looking good.
We burned the pile
(club dump) in the center of the club parking area.
I'd like to make a
motion to not have club members use that pile as their personal dump. (See
meeting minutes) We can all take our trash to a real dump this will help keep
our track from looking like one.
The watering
system will be worked on this summer. My brother-in-law owns an irrigation
company and can get me some irrigation pipe and fittings cheap, how cheap is
the question right now. He also told me he can get some sprinkler heads that
will hold up to the pressure generated by the pumps. I guess I'd like to try
some in a one area to see how they work. Right now I'm thinking the parking lot
section would be good for starters.
The new barrels
are going to be located one near the scoring shack and one by the first 65cc
cut-off.
Mike Murphy and I
were talking about upgrading our current well. We thought there should be some
way to add some additional sand points to the current well and port them all
together. Skip, maybe your well guy could answer this one.
I gave Mark Krey
another idea for the front fence, Bill C. and I were talking and thought a
board fence would look good out front, 4x4 posts with three rows of 1x6 boards,
painted or stained. After all, we're not trying to keep cattle in or anything,
and any fence we put up isn't going to stop people from getting in, it'll just
deter them.
The quad only date
idea appears to have some traction at the D-23 level, I'd like to see it
happen. And next year we'll spread out our motos a little more, I sensed some
burn-out at the last race, me included. This shouldn't be a problem with a
better watering system.

The track is built
using a hillside going up and over several times with step up and step down
jumps in place. My
impression was the layout is huge and I can't imaging fencing the area.
Only one jump
looked insane to me, but I would like to see a pro rider hit it wide open. The
next
time I go there in
2 weeks I will take some pictures to e-mail.
