Club Meeting Minutes for October 26, 2006

 

Attendance:

Club Members – Tim Kight, Mike Murphy, John Otto, Charlie Forrest Jr, Scott Haraldson, Ken Fastner, Nate Huskamp

Prospects – Darrel Ion (2nd), Wayne Anderson & son Jeremy (1st)

 

·        Budget Committee  -  Planning for next year’s event schedule should be at least partially based on how much we make and spend for each event.   The 2006 Quad MX and Stone Lake Enduro are to be reported on at the next meeting.

·        Grant-in Aid  -  Ken has everyone’s 2006 expense reports and needs to submit the master expense report to the DNR.  Should be done by the next meeting.  2007 Grant application needs to be in by the end of November.

·        Dave Kott Benefit Fall MX  -  300 entries, biggest Fall MX attendance ever.  Turnout attributed to Dave’s Benefit and points paying weekend.  $4000 donated to Dave’s Rehabilitation Fund.  Thanks to Mike Murphy for putting together the silent auction.   

·        Grantsburg  -  Fence along highway nearly completed.  Should be done on Oct 28-29.  Clubhouse is winterized and some work around the grounds on the watering system is completed.

o       IMPORTANT NOTICE:  If you use the club signup trailer, DO NOT turn on any circuit breakers except for the ones for the LIGHTS and the FURNACE.  Please take any garbage home.  Also, don’t forget that there is NO RIDING on the property during the WISCONSIN rifle DEER HUNTING season (Nov 18-26).

·        Holyoke  -  Two logged off trail segments so far this fall.  One won’t need anything, the other will need to be rerouted.  Hope to get MORE trail than before but it may not work out that way.  2007 Holyoke might be Aug 5th, Aug 12th or Aug 19th depending on Spring Creek National MX and Stone Lake timings.  Hope to reopen some old trail in Roy’s section for next year.  Considering going back into the Wisconsin woods.  

·         Stone Lake  -  Looking to MOTR to pick date for 2007.  Not sure what our involvement with Enduro should be in 2007.  Should we run our own event (Hare Scramble) instead??

·        Trophy Guy and Scoring Guy  -  Ken to contact Greg Nelson to see if he wants to continue as Trophy Guy.  Need a new Scoring Guy – any volunteers??

·        Club Dues  -  Finally voted on this one and it passed 4 to 2.  Jan 1 thru April 1:  $50,  April 2 thru July 1:  $75,  after July 2 you’re out.  $100 to buy back in.

·        Mike Murphy to look into sanctioning our MXs in District 16.  Class structure was a concern.

·        John Otto brought up the Enduro of the Year Trophy that we had planned to upgrade.  John and Ken Fastner will work on this with Greg Nelson.  Needs to be done by early February.

·         2007 Quad Only MX  -  D23 is moving towards having the Quad MX Series be totally separated from the Bike MXs.  SAER is looking for an ATV club to take over our Quad MX.
