Format for all youth races will be CLOSED COURSE: (PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS!)

Our youth events will feature one test that racers will make multiple attempts / loops on. The total, cumulative time, will be used for race results. The fastest rider wins. There will be no planned “drops” of any test times, all test scores count.

Racers will be assigned their row number / starting order by points earned by each rider so far in the season. This allows us to generally order the riders from fastest to slowest. This is not a perfect system and passing is and always will be necessary. Riders will be lined up by our start control team.

Each rider will be given a fender card / score card at sign-up and must duct tape this card to their fender and/or number plate. We have extra tape and can help with this if needed. Please just ask!

Riders will take off for each test one-at-a-time. Released in 1 minute intervals. Engines can be live and bike in gear. A start control worker will motion for you to pull up to the starting line and you will be counted down. 5-4-3-2-1-GO! You must wait until you are told to GO to take off.

All trails used during the event will be closed to the general public.  Plenty of sweep riders will be riding course during the race for the safety of all with 2-way radio communication to our Risk Manager.

We request that parents trust their children to compete independently during our event(s). We ask that parents encourage their racers to rely on individual grit and the occasional assistance from our friendly sweep riders to compete successfully. We do not encourage parents to “chase ride” behind their racers but we do allow it for first time racers. If you plan to “chase” your racer please let us know at signup as we will need to brief you and make you an official sweeper.
